- On
June 6, 2008 the third meeting took place with representatives of
Civil Society Organizations – target group women in organization of
AWC’s Good Practice Development Program in the field of domestic
violence. The meeting was organized within projects: Civil Society
Focal Points for Poverty Reduction Strategy Implementation in Serbia,
supported by PRS Implementation Team and Do You See Violence
Against Women, supported by Institute for Sustainable
Communities
.

- On
June 4, 2008 the first expert meeting took place with professionals
from CSW involved with the project Let’s bond the community
- Kragujevac, Loznica, Smederevska Palanka, Ćuprija i CCSW Belgrade
– Departments Palilula, Zvezdara, Lazarevac and Voždovac.
The expert meeting was organized by AWC’s Good Practice Development
Program in the Field of Domestic Violence.

- Accreditation of
educational program for social services providers “Domestic
Violence and Institutional Protection”
In January 2008, Ministry
of labor and social policy accredited 24 educational programs for
social services providers in the Republic of Serbia. One of the
accredited programs is AWC’s Good Practice Development Programme in
the field of domestic violence: “Domestic
Violence and Institutional Protection” - educational program
for centers for social welfare. First training for trainers will take
place from 18 to 22 April 2008.

- Public discussion within the project “Let’s bond the Community”
The AWC’s Good Practice Development Program in the Field of Domestic Violence organized a public discussion “Towns and Regions of Europe Take a Stand” on March 14 in Media Center in Belgrade. The aim of this event was presentation of the results of cooperation on coordinated action model development in the field of domestic violence in partnership with municipalities Loznica, Smederevska Palanka, Kragujevac, Ćuprija, Golubac and municipalities of City of Belgrade - Voždovac, Lazarevac, Palilula and Zvezdara, for the period 2006-2007. The
Second Meeting of the Civil Society Organizations for Women (CSO)
On
February 22 – 23, 2008 AWC organized, as a Civil Society Focal
Point (CSFP) for target group women, a second meeting of the civil
society organizations for women in the hotel Palace. At the meeting
were present 40 women from 18 towns and 30 organizations from Serbia.
Representative of The GOP Team introduced The Annual Operative
Planning within ministries. A representative of The Deputy Prime
Minister's Poverty Reduction Strategy Implementation Team (PRS)
introduced the monitoring techniques of public policies
implementation. At the meeting were present representatives from The
Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and from The Ministry of Economy
and Regional Development.

- The
meeting of representatives of The Ministry of education, Civil
Society Focal Points (CSFP) and PRSP Team
On
February 20, 2008 was held a whole day meeting of representatives
from The Ministry of Education, The Deputy Prime Minister's Poverty
Reduction Strategy Implementation Team PRS) and The Civil Society
Focal Points (CSFP). The meeting was organized with the aim to
exchange information, to identify opportunities for cooperation and
communication channels between The Ministry of Education and The
Civil Society Organizations. On behalf of AWC, as a Civil Society
Focal Point for target group women, Mrs Tanja Ignjatovic was present
that gave suggestions for the advancement of gender policy in
education.

Study
Visit: Dublin and Belfast, February 3-10, 2008
Since
2006, Care International North West Balkans in cooperation with
non-governmental organizations Autonomous Women’s Center from
Belgrade, CESI from Zagreb and Medica from Zenica has been realizing
a project “Combating gender based Violence in the Western Balkans”.
The aim of the project is prevention of gender based violence,
respect of women’s human rights and improvement of gender equality.
The integral part of this project was a Study Visit in Dublin and
Belfast for representatives of the partners’ organizations. The

Workshop
“Case Study Methodology”, Vinkovci, Croatia, February 22, 2008
The
workshop was organized by the Care International NWB, as a technical
assistance to partners’ organizations AWC, CESI and Medica. The aim
of the workshop was improvement of skills for action research of
educators, peer educators and managers of the projects of gender
based violence prevention for documentation and analysis of own best
practices, as well as contribution to increase of a regional,
feminist base of knowledge on gender based violence prevention. The
trainer at the workshop was Suzana Kunac, activist of B.a.B.e., group
for women’s human rights advancement from Croatia.

Youth
strategy of the Republic of Serbia
On
February 20, 2008, at Sava Center, was held the official public
presentation of a draft version of The National Youth Strategy of the
Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia. The second
round of consultative process of the draft version started on
February 15, when the official document has been presented at the web
site www.zamislizivot.org.
The public discussion is open until March 9, 2008, till when all
interested parties can comment the document. Final version of the
Strategy is expected on March 31, and creation of the Action plan
based on the Strategy starts at the beginning of April 2008.

- For the formulation of the annual operational plans of relevant ministries for 2008, the Autonomous Women’s Center, as a focal civil society organization for the implementation of the Poverty Reduction strategy – target group women, has prepared, in cooperation with the included women organizations, a „Map“ of women organization resources in Serbia and a short description of the organizations - cluster members (link Map_11-11)

- On November 26, 2007 within the campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women” in the Great Gallery in the Student Cultural Center was opened the exhibition Offbeat: Look and See Violence Against Women (Selda Asal, He Chengyao, Biljana Đurđevic, Guerilla Girls, Ivana Kličkovič, Eufrosinia Kersnovskaya, Aprilija Lužar, Grace Ndiritu, Ana Peraica, Nevena Popović, Jovana Popić, Milica Ružičić, Anne-Marie Schneider, Ivana Smiljanić, Hito Steyerl, Aleksandra Zdravković). The exhibition was opened by: Gorica Mojović, assistant of the mayor, Maja Ćirić curator of the exhibition and Irina Ljubić, media coordinator in AWC. The exhibition will be opened until December, 10 2007.

- In
Vienna, in the period of November 5-7, 2007 THE 10 YEARS OF THE
AUSTRIAN LAW AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE was commemorated with an
international conference.
